Surgical Exposure of Impacted Tooth (EBL)
Occasionally one or two of the permanent teeth can get stuck in the jaw bone. This is either due to having a small jaw or eruption sequence abnormality. In these cases, if the orthodintist needs to use the tooth (i.e. front teeth or I teeth) they will ask Dr. Keyhani to uncover the tooth. Once the tooth is surgically uncovered, Dr. Keyhani will bond an orthodontic bracket with a gold chain, to the impacted tooth. Over the next twelve to twenty four months the orthodontist will slowly guide the tooth into the mouth.
